Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Authority seeks to appoint a single supplier for Firefighting backpack sprayers which are to be used to extinguish small fires in locations where it is difficult to access with a Fire Appliance and may be used as part of a wider approach involving engine powered misting systems, bespoke Wildfire or All-Terrain Vehicles or Fire Appliances.
The firefighting backpack sprayer shall be a backpack, constructed of flexible material, capable of carrying a minimum of 19 litres of water to a fire ground; fitted with a manual pump system and lance suitable to propel water, in either a jet or a mist, onto a fire and capable of being carried and fully operated by a single Firefighter.
