The Department for Education (DfE) is responsible for supporting improvement in local authorities, through government intervention in response to failure or weakness in the provision of children's social care services.
DfE wishes to appoint a due diligence supplier to support the set up of the Sandwell Children's Social Care Trust.
The due diligence supplier will report to the DfE contract manager and Commissioner on progress on delivery, which will inform decisions about the nature of the Department's intervention.
The overarching intention is that services for children and young people in Sandwell must be high quality, meet financial objectives and be sustainable.
