Highways England is to set up a contract for provision of the following service: 1) Phase 1- Carry out independent numerical modelling and static dynamic analyses to understand the deflection / oscillation issues, providing a summary of the issues.
The outcomes identified by this phase will determine whether or not Phase 2 is required.
2) Hold Point 1 - Based upon the outcome of the review in Phase 1, Highways England will determine and confirm the need for a full BD2/12 CAT3 independent check of the footbridge design. (Phase 2) 3) Phase 2 - Carry out a full CAT3 check of the design including the proposed mitigation measures to address the issues identified in Phase 1.
