The brief

The Energy and Bioproducts Research Institute (EBRI) at Aston University have completed the procurement of 1 x Continuous Flow Tubular Micro-Reactor to conduct catalytic reactions in flow, including liquid and gas phase reaction on a fixed bed of catalyst to allow measuring the activity and selectivity of catalysts.

At EBRI, we run projects related to a broad range of catalytic reactions with various requirements of process conditions, i.e. reaction temperature, reaction pressure, multiple feed streams, with different flow rates.

The device will help researchers to save time and resources in catalyst development and screening.

The reactor will be used for reactions including, but not limited to, hydrogenation, oxidation, reforming, isomerisation, and Fischer-Tropsch, supporting EBRI activities in development of low carbon liquid and gaseous fuels from biomass and waste.
