The brief

Tenders are invited for the supply of Works in respect of Nutwood Access Track Improvements.

This project is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The client is seeking to appoint a contractor with experience of working in an environmentally sensitive area to undertake repairs and re-surfacing of an access track from the South Avenue footpath connection to the Midland Canoe Club, Darley Abbey, Derby.

The track is currently a compacted stone track which is in a poor state.

The track is to be surfaced with macadam to prolong its life and reduce future maintenance costs.

The track is part of a popular route to the local nature reserve and canoe club.

Works include: - Repairs to existing track - Formation of passing place adjacent to track - Installation of edgings - Installation of barrier - Supply of signage - Macadam surfacing - Installation of reinforced gravel areas for access to riverside The site is open to the public and the contractor may make an unaccompanied visit to the site at another time.

However, there are two optional, accompanied site visits available with the contract administrator at the following times should the contractor wish to attend - Monday 8 October 10:00 am Wednesday 10 October 10:00am Tenderers wishing to have an accompanied walkover should contact the procurement team via the e-tendering system to confirm attendance on any of the two available days giving a minimum of 48 hrs notice.

Any clarification questions arising from the site visits should be sent using the messaging function on the e-tendering system.

Please note, suppliers wishing to express interest and obtain the documentation, must do so by 15:00 on 30 October 2018.

It is recommended that you express interest and obtain the documentation well before this time to allow sufficient time to prepare and submit a comprehensive response.

The deadline for returns is 14:00 on Wednesday 31 October 2018.
