The brief

The overarching purpose of the Service is to provide children, young people and their parents and carers with impartial information, advice and support about matters relating to special educational needs and/or disabilities including health and social care as it impacts on their education and aspirations.

The Service is for children and young people aged 0 - 25 years with special educational needs and disabilities and their parent and carers who are normally resident in Wiltshire local authority.

Working with families from the moment a concern is identified with a child's education, or development, and continuing to support, whether statutory thresholds for an Education Health and Care Plan (My Plans) are met or not, up to and including tribunal, or complaints.

The Service also supports families whose children and young people with special educational needs are excluded from school, or at threat of exclusion.
