The brief

The University of Central Lancashire has agreed to fund the costs of reports for students who need a diagnosis and evidence of a specific learning difficulty in order to access the appropriate support for their studies required under the Equality Act 2010.

The University has around 20,000 students, most of whom are based on the Preston Main Campus, however some students are also based at our Campuses in Burnley and Westlakes.

The number of students requiring assessment per academic year varies, but approximately 185 assessments per year have taken place on average each year over the past 3 years.

The number of assessment per location are shown below (these figures are for guidance only and may not be representative of future requirements.

Number of assessments may fluctuate depending on student numbers): Preston Campus - 160 Burnley Campus - 5 Blackburn - 1 Other sites (incl London, Manchester, Liverpool & Leeds) - 20 The University would provide suitable space on campus free of charge for the assessments to take place for UCLan students.

The provider would be expected to be able to travel to any of the University's campuses to undertake the assessments.

The University is looking to award this contract to the winning bidder for a period of 2 years with an optional extension period of 1 year based on satisfactory performance.

This extension will be at the discretion of the University.
