The brief

The Planning Policy section in Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council forms part of the Democracy, Planning & Public Protection Department.

The primary role of the section is to produce the Borough Plan within which the development needs for the Borough are set out and planned for.

To support the Borough Plan a number of supporting development plan and supplementary plan documents have been / will be produced.

This procurement has been divided into two Lots: Lot 1 - Sustainability Appraisal Reports The purpose is to ensure that the Council are provided with up-to-date sustainability appraisal reports at all stages of the production of two development plan documents to facilitate their adoption.

The sustainability reports will allow the Council to understand the likely economic, environmental, and social effects of adopting the two development plan documents and, thus, the sustainability of the documents.

In particular, the reports will need to: • Inform the development of planning policies; and • Inform the selection of sites for allocation.

Lot 2 - Appropriate Assessment (Habitat Regulations Assessment) Reports The purpose is to ensure that the Council are provided with up-to-date Appropriate Assessments at all stages of the production of the development plan documents to facilitate their adoption.
