The brief

This is a prior information notice with call for future competition for provision of NHS Herefordshire CCG's Wheelchairs Maintenance & Repair Service.

The Wye Valley NHS Trust operates a Wheelchair Service Assessment & Prescription Service to provide wheelchair services to children and adults who are registered with a Herefordshire GP and the CCG is seeking to commission a Contractor to deliver a Maintenance & Repair Service across a number of the service delivery locations, including at Service Users' usual place of residence and work, schools, day-centres and community hospitals, covering one or a combination of the following Services: • delivery and collection service • storage and stockholding service • repair service • decontamination service • reconditioning service • planned preventative maintenance service (powered wheelchairs and power packs only).

The purchase of all new wheelchairs is excluded from this proposed contract.

Herefordshire CCG wishes to hear from providers who may be interested in delivering this Service.

Interested providers must be able to provide services within the Herefordshire community.

The contract term will be for 5 years plus an optional extension of a further 2 years.

The initial contact term value is £590k - £605k.

"Light Touch Regime" services: This service is classified as clinical which comes under the Light Touch Regime services for the purpose of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 as specified in Schedule 3 of the Regulations ("Regulations").

The contracting authorities are not voluntarily following any other part of the Regulations.

As the CCG is a relevant body for the purpose of the National Health Service (Procurement, Patient Choice and Competition) (No 2) Regulations 2013 these Regulations also apply to this procurement.

All dates, time periods and values specified in this notice are provisional.
