The keys aims are to identify and assess: (i) Teachers', leaders' and governors' views and understanding of the teacher pay framework, including the uses of Teaching and Learning Responsibility allowances (TLRs), the main pay range (MPR) and the upper pay range (UPR) in their own settings; and, (ii) Teachers', leaders' and governors' views on how the teacher pay framework can best provide a clearer career pathway for classroom teachers, support recruitment and retention within the profession and what adjustments may be required to meet these goals.
This shall be achieved through: • a brief survey of teachers, with an achieved response from 750 teachers • 15 in-depth headteacher telephone interviews • 50 in-depth teacher telephone interviews • webinars with 16 governors.
