Community Dental Services - Lot 1 Derbyshire and Lot 2 Nottinghamshire
Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit on behalf of NHS England (North Midlands) is looking to tender Community Dental Services across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire (excluding Bassetlaw for all Services except epidemiology).
It is anticipated that the contracts shall run from 1st April 2019 for duration of 4 years and 11 months under a PDS contract.
The contracts will be offered in two lots each with an anticipated contract value per annum of: Lot 1: Derbyshire - £5.75m Lot 2: Nottinghamshire - £4.87m NHS England (North Midlands) is inviting suitably qualified Providers to a market engagement event taking place on Wednesday 23rd May 2018 at 2pm in Mansfield (venue to be confirmed).
A draft Service Specification has been attached as part of this PIN for potential Providers to consider and provide their comments, the deadline for comments and registering for the event is Friday 18th May 2018.
The services are expected to provide patient centred clinical services in a primary care setting for patients who are unable to access and obtain routine dental care in a general dental practice setting because of some impairment, disability and/or complex medical condition.
The aim of the Community Dental Services will be to improve the oral health and reduce the oral health inequalities of people in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire (excluding Bassetlaw for all services except epidemiology) who have a physical, sensory, intellectual, mental, medical, psychological and/or emotional or social impairment or disability or more often a combination of these through: - Providing high quality consultant-led paediatric and special care dentistry to children and adults.
This will include children with more complex dental needs; - Providing high quality dental care to people from vulnerable groups whose needs may not be accommodated in NHS general dental services.
In addition the service will: - Deliver the fieldwork for Public Health England's Dental Public Health Epidemiology Programme where commissioned for local authorities.
