The brief

The Tenderer should be aware that the works detailed in this package are constrained due to the nature of the location they are to be conducted in.

Project location HM Naval Base Portsmouth The Contractor shall be expected to adhere by the HMNB site security requirements, all Contractors and Sub-Contractors shall be BPSS security vetted and will be required to hold the relevant site security passes.

The Contractor shall be expected to hold the following levels of insurance £10m Public Liability, £10m Product Liability, £5m Professional Indemnity.

The joint venture will combine the expertise of KBR as a global leader in infrastructure asset management and services with BAE Systems' experience and capability within Portsmouth Naval Base.

KBS Maritime are delivering an ambitious, modern and enduring change to the Portsmouth Naval base infrastructure, securing investment in the local community and ensuring fit-for-purpose, world-leading fleet support for the Royal Navy and the UK in the decades ahead.

Project Background KBS Maritime have a requirement for 2 new high capacity de-watering pumps to replace 2x dry well pumps, currently in use to de-water the deep locks and dry docks at HMNB Portsmouth.

The pumps are required to discharge saltwater at a minimum of 20,000 m3/h each at total dynamic heads of up to 20m.

The successful tenderer shall be responsible for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the pump, motor, and controls.

The pumps shall require minimal alterations to the existing civil structure.

The existing pumps, motors and controls are to be removed and disposed of by the tenderer.

Budget: circa £5m Contractor SQEP (Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel) guidance Industry track record, confined space working, salt water environments, large and deep wells, working within MoD establishments.

NIC EIC approved (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting), NACE accreditation, EN1090 execution class 3., Achillies UVDB, City & Guilds confined space level 2/3 for operatives, level 5 for managers, Welder quals to BS EN 287, Security clearance, IPAF (International Powered Access Federation), SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health), NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health), CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme), Safe Contractor.

Key Dates (approximate) Expressions of Interest: 5 January 2024 ITT Published: Late January 2024 ITT Close: Mid/Late March 2024 Construction commencement: 01 May 2024 Project Completion : 30 June 2025
