Background The UK's 2015 Strategic Defence & Security Review (SDSR) undertook to "enable our AF to work more flexibly, reflecting the realities of modern life" (para 4.53), & to "develop a new AF offer for new joiners" (para 4.54).

Its vision is to create "a modern &inclusive AF which attracts, retains & values its people, in order to enhance operational capability, offering choice as to how they live & work providing a comprehensive & sustainable reward package that recognises commitments & service" Description of the modifications Due to the additional requirement for FES Study and the survey being conducted during Purdah revised delivery approaches were provided to Authority and "Sequential" delivery approach was selected which would meet timelines available and minimise the risks involved.
This agreed option required additional resource & increased value and slight extension to contract end date.
Description of the circumstances which rendered the modification necessary and explanation of the unforeseen nature of these circumstances: Due to unforeseen and the short notice call for election and impact of this on the surveys delay due to Purdah, the Authority & contractor were required to agree a new delivery approach to enable timelines to be met.
