The brief

Merlin Housing Society is embarking on a programme to transform the way in which its repairs and maintenance services are delivered.

The strategy is to implement a multiskilling programme for trade operatives.

In order to meet the needs and demands of current and future business, Merlin has agreed that a multi-skilled model should be adopted with operatives qualified in at least one base trade and fully competent to perform the tasks in other disciplines.

Our disciplines are: • Carpentry • Wet trades (bricklaying, plastering, roofing and guttering, floor and wall tiling). • Plumbing • Painting and decorating • First fix electrical work This is an exciting project which will improve the services we deliver to customers whilst also upskilling our staff.

This is an exciting opportunity and will support Merlin’s aim to be a worldclass organisation.

Merlin are located in South Gloucestershire and it is required that all training will be carried out in this area.
