The brief

The Prime Minister announced in July 2015 the setting up of a Food Innovation Network to help companies – especially small businesses – find the support they need to innovate.

The Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs is seeking a Coordinator to drive forward the work of the Network.

The Coordinator, who may be an individual or organisation, will be based at the National Agri-Food Innovation Campus near York.

Joining up innovation along the food supply chain and working with academia and businesses to collaborate on new ideas to translate science into practical use will need exceptional interpersonal skills and knowledge of how innovation in Agri-Food happens.

Defra, the Biological and Biosciences Research Council and the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Enterprise Partnership are funding the Coordinator for two years; the Coordinator will need to develop plans for the sustainability of the Network beyond this initial period.
