On behalf of the Greater Brighton Economic Board (GBEB), Brighton & Hove City Council (BHCC) wishes to develop a strategy for the opportunities and challenges provided by hydrogen across the Greater Brighton area, that will help the region to decarbonise its energy, improve resilience, support and promote a hydrogen economy, and attract investment to the area.
A working group comprising Hydrogen Sussex, the University of Brighton, Brighton & Hove City Council, and Greater South-East Net Zero Hub (GSZH) are co-ordinating a hydrogen investment proposition (strategy).
The overall aims are: 1.
To encourage and support development of a strong hydrogen sector in the Greater Brighton and wider Sussex region.
2.
To secure broad economic benefit from public sector and private sector support for development of regional Hydrogen production and use.
The overarching investment proposition will give a clear focus and priorities for investment, establish a place-based perspective, help key stakeholders understand the opportunities in the region, and prepare the ground for significant funding applications.
The investment proposition has two key areas of focus: Work Package 1 - Activity Baseline Work Package 2 - Strategy and Investment BHCC now wishes to appoint a service provider for Work Package 2 - Strategy and Investment.
