National Youth Social Action Survey
In 2014 the Cabinet Office launched the National Youth Social Action Survey, in partnership with Step Up To Serve, to measure the number of young people taking part in social action.
This involved face to face interviews with a nationally representative sample of 2000 young people (10-20 year olds) on their social action participation over the previous year.
The survey was developed in partnership with the Data & Quality Assurance Steering Group (D&QA).
The survey is expected to repeat every year until at least 2020, to help us understand trends in youth social action participation across the UK and different demographics, as well as allowing us to track progress against the 2020 goals.
Responsibility for this area of work has now moved from the Cabinet Office to DCMS.
