The brief

Great Hollands School Expansion The project comprises the refurbishment and remodelling of the existing school buildings, the demolition of the existing link corridor and construction of a new nursery block, six new classrooms a new entrance and administration area.

An existing internal courtyard shall be infilled to create a new internal group room and the existing hall extended internally by opening up the adjacent existing office space.

On completion the school will provide sufficient suitable accommodation for a three form entry primary school.

The new build elements will be of traditional construction with new aluminium windows and doors and external Trespa cladding panels or an acceptable equivalent.

Mechanical, electrical and water services shall be reconfigured to suit the new internal layout and extended to the new build areas.

The project will also include the associated internal remodelling and refurbishment works, comprising redecoration, new floor finishes, lighting, small power and data.

There is also a requirement for new hard and soft landscaping works to external play areas including a new car park and input by the Main Contractor into managing the decant for staff and pupils affected by works.

The approximate construction value is in the region of £3.5 Million with a phased programme on an occupied school site, Commencing in January 2016 and completing by April 2018.
