The brief

The Consultant will be required to define the floating and subsea systems for two case study sites.

For consistency, baseline sites from previous FOW CoE projects will be used where possible.

Gaps in knowledge and technology will be identified to define a roadmap towards commercial readiness by 2025 to 2030.

Experience from previous/ongoing projects will play a key role in this task e.g. previous OREC projects on inter-array cable topology (DC06) and mooring and cable installation (DC07).

Key uncertainties in this roadmap should also be defined.

A cost comparison should be performed to set out which option would be preferable for a range of potential UK project configurations, subject to a range of assumptions and sensitivities.

Finally, a sensitivity of lifetime costs to system reliability levels will be investigated.
