The Faculty of Science and Technology at Lancaster University works in partnership with businesses and other science and technology users so that our research and teaching makes a demonstrable difference to the economy and society.
Our partners range from small and medium enterprises, voluntary organisations, charities, social enterprises, public sector institutes such as the NHS, to global companies like Microsoft, Unilever and BT.
The faculty is very successful at securing both public and private sector funding to work with these external partners and particularly with the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to support small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).
New ERDF projects will be proposed this summer with the intention of starting new projects within the faculty early in 2016 to work with SMEs across the Northwest of England.
The management of the ERDF projects is a complicated process of securing details of supported SMEs and activity throughout the lifetime of the project and beyond and the faculty is seeking a method to streamline this recording in a more efficient way.
The Business Partnerships and Enterprise team in the Faculty of Science and Technology is seeking a private sector specialist to: complete a process analysis to map the data flow relating to knowledge exchange such as ERDF projects and produce a range of recommendations for improvement.
The university retains the option to extend the contract to complete the works or to undertake any associated, optional works.
Lancaster University reserves the right not to award a contract following this tender, nor does it bind itself to accept the lowest price or any quotation.
The university reserves the right to terminate the contract in the event of continued unsatisfactory performance.
