The brief

The British Film Institute delivers a range of high-level cultural and cinema events on an annual basis including BFI London Film Festival, the UK's largest public film event and BFI Flare: London LGBTIQ+ Film Festival, one of the world's most significant and long-standing LGBTIQ+ film events.

BFI London Film Festival takes place in October each year, and is a 12 day festival showcasing the best in international feature films, shorts and a special range of events. http://www.bfi.org.uk/LFF.

BFI Flare takes place in March each year, and is a 12 day festival showcasing the best LGBTIQ+ feature films, shorts and a range of special events. http://www.bfi.org.uk/flare.

As part of both festivals, the BFI will be premiering feature films, short films and events online as part of the programme.

The BFI has a commitment to making these film premieres as accessible as possible and they are tendering to engage a provider to supply closed captions and audio description for English language features and short films which will be screened online.

For BFI Flare: London LGBTIQ+ Film festivals, the quantities are estimated to be circa 25 features and 30 shorts - all with closed captioning and audio description.

For BFI London Film Festival, the quantities are still yet to be defined but in 2020 the festival delivered 26 Feature Film and 30 short films.
