In accordance with the ESPO Framework Reference: 306 Electrical Testing Service : Lot One : West Midlands Fire and Rescue Authority (“the Authority”) is conducting this procurement for the purpose of procuring provision of the service described fully in the specification set out in Schedule 2. ( see extract below) The Contractor is to carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) to West Midlands Fire service properties in line with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
For the purposes of this specification, a portable electrical appliance shall be an item of equipment which is not part of a fixed installation but is, or is intended to be, connected to a fixed installation, or a generator, by means of a flexible cable and a plug and socket.
The Contractor shall identify each portable electrical appliance with a unique number permanently affixed to the appliance.
The individual sockets of multi-socket boards/blocks and extension leads shall be individually identified.
The number together with a description of the appliance shall be entered onto report forms which shall be submitted to the Facilities Management Administrator.
