Request for Information - Curriculum Content Management
For some time, the University of Manchester's curriculum management has relied on a custom add-on to Campus Solutions called Course Unit Information Publishing (CUIP) to record the basic components of curriculum specifications suitable for producing web pages and CMA durable information.
Alongside this, we use a separate manual Word document-centred process for handling and approving new and amended Course Units and Programmes.
Keeping these two sources of information synchronised by copying and pasting is a time-consuming, manual, and error-prone task, not helped by differing terminology in the Word and CUIP forms.
The Curriculum Content Management project is looking to; enhance the quality and availability of curriculum data, streamline administrative processes, support the University's regulatory obligations, and unlock the potential of its curriculum data.
To achieve this the project is looking to provision a software solution to become a single point of truth for curriculum data, capturing detailed curriculum information and coupling it with management of the University's end-to-end curriculum lifecycle and seamless integration with other key university platforms.
The University is looking for a solution that will accommodate the diverse course offerings available across its three faculties and nine schools, as well as provide a platform for development and innovation for the future.
The University of Manchester no longer meets the criteria of a 'body governed by public law' and is therefore not considered a contracting authority for the purposes of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and/or any replacement legislation.
As a result, the University of Manchester will no longer be subject to the regime contained in The Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and/or any replacement legislation with effect from 1 August 2023.
However, as an institution founded for the public good, an exempt charity and an organization in receipt of public funds, the University has a duty to manage expenditure in an appropriate manner and aims to deliver value for money across its non-pay spend by adhering to good procurement practice.
Information, formalities and necessary requirements to be met will be set out in the procurement documents, all of which are freely available via the University's procurement portal In-Tend - https://in-tendhost.co.uk/manchesteruniversity
