GB-Shrewsbury: RONV 012 - Shrewsbury Town Centre and River Front CCTV Extension
This sits in the lower-middle of the Radio, TV & Communications Equipment band — a mid-scale opportunity. Based on 6,686 valued Radio, TV & Communications Equipment tenders in our corpus.
Shropshire Council requires an extension of the current CCTV system in Shrewsbury town centre, building on, and integrating into the existing infrastructure and network.
Invitations to tender are therefore sought from companies who can demonstrate that they are experienced in supplying and installing town centre CCTV equipment.
The expected outcome of this extension is dual purpose: to fill identified gaps in the existing camera coverage in the town centre that will provide coverage of identified areas of antisocial and criminal incidents, enhancing the safety of night-time economy visitors; and also providing surveillance of the town's river frontage to enhance river safety in the light of a number of recent tragedies and incidents.
CCTV cameras must have enhanced recording capacity with the ability to provide court admissible quality recording.
Compliance with the requirements of the Surveillance Camera Commissioner, Data Protection Act 2018, Information Commissioners Office and GDPR must be assured.
Shrewsbury Town Centre CCTV System currently has 39 HikVision HD CCTV cameras.
The majority of these are directly connected into Shropshire Council's own fibre optic network, others are connected via High-Frequency radio links.
We would invite prospective bidders to undertake joint surveys with the CCTV Team Leader to gain further understanding from which to develop this bid
