NHS East Riding of Yorkshire CCG - Provision of Patient Transportation Services
NHS East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group requires a service provider for the provision of non-urgent planned Patient Transport Ambulance Services for patients to attend hospital admission and clinical appointments at sites across the Yorkshire and Humber area with return journeys as required.
The provider will utilise a Single Point of Access and ensure robust systems are in place for a co-ordinated medical transportation service that can fulfil an estimated 65,000, (sixty five thousand) journeys per annum.
The provider will supply a safe, high quality, dignified and cost effective patient centred non-emergency medical transport service solution that will manage and deliver all non-emergency medical patient journeys (requiring both medically equipped and non-medical vehicles) for eligible patients.
The provider will support and be responsive to hospital discharges requirements and a changing NHS landscape.
The provider will be required to operate robust systems to ensure the service is available to eligible patients who are registered with an East Riding of Yorkshire GP or living in East Riding of Yorkshire but not registered with a GP and produce management information to validate claims made.
The service will be required to: •Ensure patients with a medical need receive a professional, responsive and high quality transport service that meets the needs of both the patient and effective service delivery; •Ensure each patient reaches their destination in comfort, without detriment to their medical condition, on time for their appointment and within a reasonable journey time; •Ensure patients equity of access to healthcare; •Deliver measurable improvements in patient experience; •Deliver value for money in the managing and delivery of non-emergency medical patient journeys; •Provide fit for purpose vehicle solutions and levels of care to meet the varying clinical needs of patients; •Satisfy the CCG responsibility for the provision of suitable transport for eligible patients.
Contract Term –minimum of One Year with possible 1 year extension Cost: £ 1.9m
