The brief

Coventry University is establishing a new Waste Disposal Services contract for the buildings on the main University campus, the Coventry University Technology Park, The Hudson Building (London Campus) and the Dagenham campus (London Campus).

The contract is scheduled to run for a period of two years with the option of two further one-year extensions.

Coventry University Group aims for excellence in sustainability across all its activities.

The waste contract is a key contributor to this, and the University aims to recycle over 80% of its waste.

We expect waste suppliers to maintain this recycling rate while supporting the University to reduce waste output by 20% through reuse and other opportunities.

This could include measures that add societal value through the management of waste, adopting a circular economy approach and working with partners, including social enterprises and charities.

The successful bidder will be expected to demonstrate these standards as well as those within our Environmental Sustainability Policy, which include carbon reduction, sustainable transport, enhancing student experience and contribution to the local community.

Coventry University is continually growing and so may expand over the course of the contract.

The number of areas serviced may expand or contract over the life of the contract.

The University does not wish to employ brokers for the provision of this service.
