The site is generally split into three locations: Holme Lane Defences, Penistone Road Defences and Loxley Confluence Defences.
The defences will consist of a combination of new structures and modifications to existing structures and buildings and may include the following: retaining walls, retaining walls with mini-piles, gravity walls, raising and/or strengthening existing walls, ground raising and embankments, bridge parapets, flap valves and flood gates.
