The brief

The successful supplier will be required to provide catering services for The Laurus Trust at the following locations: - Laurus Ryecroft, - Laurus Cheadle Hulme, - Cheadle Hulme Primary School, - Didsbury High School, - Cheadle Hulme High School.

The catering service provision to the Trust will encompass a mixture of primary and secondary schools, including new builds and existing schools.

To ensure that best value principles are applied the Governors and Senior Leaders of the Trust have decided to Tender the catering services.

Secondary school opened in September 2018 for 155 students.

There will be approximately 310 students in September 2019.

Once it moves into permanent accommodation it will then have an intake of 210 pupils per year from 2020.

The 6th form is due to open in 2021/22 or 2022/23 depending upon the capital build and will accommodate 300 students.

The school will accommodate 1 350 students when full.

The Laurus Trust operates outstanding schools - we want our catering company to have all of the essential abilities and skills to provide an outstanding catering service to our students, staff and visitors at all our schools.

You should have the knowledge of how to provide exceptional dining experiences, be able to manage everyone around you and be able to address a concerning matter and take quick actions where required.

Providing a high quality and reliable catering service has a major effect on the whole learning experience for all our students, staff and visitors and this is why The Laurus Trust is passionate about having very high quality catering facilities, with excellent food choices which are nutritionally balanced for everyone.

Having excellent customer care, the caterer should be polite, diplomatic and thoughtful while dealing with all our students, staff and visitors.

The way you operate in our schools is crucial to ensure customer satisfaction and to encourage students continue to use the facilities and enjoy the meal times.

Your menus and pricing structure need to be clear to the students so that they can understand exactly what the offer is to them.

The Trust has spent a lot of time and money in ensuring we have good quality dining facilities where students can enjoy meal times and we have recently refurbished and extended our 6th form dining space at Cheadle Hulme High School.

We are looking for a refreshing and innovative approach that reflects, amongst other things, the changing profile of student life and their food preferences and types and preferred styles of dining.

It's essential to The Laurus Trust that the contractors bidding for this tender think broadly about all issues and not just the core catering service to compete and be successful in obtaining the contracts of the schools within the Trust.

We would like the contractors to always be on the lookout for new ways of doing things, coming up with new solutions for many common problems.

Further information is provided in the SQ Document.
