Independent Advocacy - Co-production - Meet the Buyer Event - Invitation to the Market - Rotherham Council - Adult Care, Public Health and Housing EVENT REARRANGED TO ACCOMMODATE ATTENDANCE - THE EVENT ORGANISED ON THE 3 JULY WILL NOW TAKE PLACE ON THE 10 JULY The provision of independent advocacy services are essential to support the Council's statutory requirements for Adult Care.
Independent advocacy ensures people are supported to say what they want, secure their rights, represent their interests and obtain services they need and are socially included, treated equally and receive social justice.
The types of independent advocacy services delivered to Adults in Rotherham are Care Act Advocacy, Independent Mental Health Advocacy, Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy, Relevant Person Representatives and Generic Advocacy.
The Council also commission • peer advocates for adults who have a learning disability and who are affected by changes to services and • NHS Independent Complaints Advocacy Service for all ages.
In order to inform future service specifications for independent advocacy services a co-productive approach has commenced.
A series of focused sessions have taken place to support the design and co-production of future independent advocacy services in Rotherham.
The Council are inviting the providers of independent advocacy services to attend a workshop taking place on the: Date: 10 July 2019 Time: 2:00pm - 4pm Venue: John Smith's Room, Town Hall, Ship Hill.
S60 2HA.
Independent advocacy providers who attend the event will receive information about the current service model and activity and upcoming tender opportunities.
There will be an opportunity to contribute to the design of the service specification, service model and procurement model.
A workshop style will be adopted and to promote interactivity.
Thematic group discussions will take place using the word café method and group discussions will be facilitated by Commissioners and recorded by supporters.
A detailed agenda and session plan will be produced for those confirming their attendance.
