The brief

NEW UPDATE 04 March 2025 `Smart Basing' Access Control Industry Update.

As previously mentioned in our last update on 23rd January, the complexity of the project has highlighted some changes in direction in how we approach this procurement.

Due to this and other Internal factors it has been decided that at this point another Market Interest day would not prove beneficial to the Authority and could waste valuable Industry resource, therefore it will not be going ahead in March as originally anticipated.

We would like to thank you for your continued interest in the project and will continue to keep you updated as the project matures through Internal discovery work. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 23rd January 2025 ACCESS CONTROL 'Smart Basing' Update to Industry.

The Authority appreciate that this update is long over due however we want to assure you that any responses received from the RFI and industry engagement event in April 2024 have continued to be valuable in supporting us to shape our requirement.

General Updates: • Home Command is now Standing Joint Command (SJC). • SJC have bought Defence Digital on board as the Delivery Agent.

The new SJC Project Director is Col Miles Pennett and the Defence Digital Project Lead is Sophie Danns. • The complexity of the project has brought to our attention that some further information is still required to inform the route to market therefore we plan to hold a second Market Interest Day in March 2025 (date tbc) which will include a more specific question set and include some new collated data.

The information already provided has been instrumental in bringing to our attention other technical considerations to ensure that the approach is well defined and is deliverable.

We will be in touch soonest with an update on the details of the day.
