This is a Contract Award Notice.
Following the introduction of Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM), legislation which came into force in September 2014, there is a need to increase the number of meals served at Francis Baily Primary School.
The existing kitchen and dining hall are insufficient to meet the demand for hot meals for the current NOR (525) and predicted demand - a minimum of 225 UIFSM plus an average additional 130 paid dinners = 355 dinners estimated on a daily basis.
Therefore a temporary arrangement was put in place for September 2014.
The Project: A single storey extension of 80m2 to existing School Hall in traditional load bearing construction to provide permanent kitchen.
Works will include: Stripping out existing temporary kitchen and making good, demolishing existing boundary walls, forming openings between new kitchen and Hall; changes to storage cupboards within Hall, foul and surface water drainage alterations, formation of new bin store and provision of six replacement car parking spaces
