Within Mid Essex Hospital Services (MEHT) as with any other healthcare organisation ventilation is used extensively to provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff.
More specialised ventilation is provided in areas such as operating departments, critical care areas and isolation facilities for primary patient treatment.
It is also installed: • to ensure compliance with the quality assurance requirements of items processed in pharmacies and sterile services departments; • to protect staff from harmful organisms and toxic substances (for example in laboratories All ventilation systems are to be serviced, maintained and cleaned as detailed in the summary of work section 2.30 of the specification for Ventilation Systems Maintenance Services available on Bravo link below. https://eoecph.bravosolution.co.uk/web/login.shtml It is the responsibility of the Estates and Facilities team to ensure that inspection, service and maintenance activities are carried out safely, at the correct intervals and without hazard to staff, patients or members of the public.
In line with regulations, the Critical Ventilation systems Verification shall be undertaken annually, this is out of scope of this tender and will be managed under a separate contract.
This contract shall form the basis for a rolling contract over 3 years with the option for each party to terminate with three (3) months’ notice.
At the end of the 3 year period, then the contract will be retendered in line with Trust policy.
