The brief

Advice, mentoring and upskilling on digital, data and technology strategy, organisational design and roadmaps needed to support digital ways of working in the OU including: • Advice on digital, data and technology • strategy, organisational design and roadmaps • Advice and mentoring for senior and executive leaders • Designing digital, technology and operational standards for services, processes and platforms • Assurance and advice on digital, technological, and service improvements • Improving the digital skills of all those across the OU as required • Adapting governance and leadership behaviours to support an agile delivery approach • Ability to commission more substantial, bounded packages of work depending on needs across the OU as required.

Examples may include service design projects, independent reviews of projects and service improvements, organisation design and capability building activities. • Creating agility through service teams and an increased focus on user experience • Building better experiences for people using our systems through personalised, seamless journeys • Design and deliver training as necessary • Assistance in building relevant capability and delivery frameworks • Moving to an evergreen estate with continuous improvement at the heart of what we do • Options development and appraisal • Requirements gathering and management • Communications and stakeholder management • Agile delivery- inc.

Agile practices and roles • Transition planning and management • Change embedding - adapting and adopting change into BAU including behavioural change • Cultural change and change leadership • Public Digital will work in close collaboration with an OU internal team, including building their capability and ensuring momentum is sustained and there is continuity in the longer term.
