The brief

Cefas requires a vessel and associated services to undertake bathymetric surveys in four areas within BNNC, and deliver data, which will aid in the planning of the camera survey work.

Berwickshire and North Northumberland Coast (x4 Survey Areas) Four bathymetric surveys sites within the BNNC SAC are required covering the previously acquired survey areas.

Full swathe bathymetry coverage is required for the specified areas.

The data must comply with the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) s-44 order 1a, 6th edition (S-44_Edition_6.0.0_EN.pdf (iho.int)).

This standard specifies total horizontal uncertainty (THU) horizontal accuracy of 5 m plus 5% of water depth and total vertical uncertainty (TVU) of 0.5 m plus 0.013% of water depth.

Tidal reduction shall be conducted using the Vertical Offshore Reference Frame (VORF) and bathymetry is to be reduced to the Chart Datum (CD) reference.

Due to the shallow water depths of the survey areas and the tidal regime, Cefas requires Tenderers to provide a provisional line plan that will propose initial survey line spacing and will seek to maximise the coverage obtained in the shoal areas.

Tenderers should also provide an estimation of time required to acquire the data and an estimate of time required for running of infill lines.
