Abbey Woods Consolidation Project
Abbey Woods Academy is a primary school in Berinsfield, Oxfordshire with around 200 pupils on role.
Currently, the school occupies two separate buildings located on a single site, separated by a car park, which, for simplicity have been named KS1 and KS2.
Due to having excess capacity and declining pupil admissions, it has been suggested that the school could operate more effectively and efficiently by consolidating the entire school into the KS1 building, leaving KS2 free to be used for community use or similar.
Whilst the footprint of the KS1 building should be more-or-less sufficient to contain all of the classes, it will require a substantial amount of re-configuring before the space will be suitable.
Considerations include additional classroom space, office space, kitchen and toilet facilities and soundproofing plus redecorating.
