Sustainability Leadership and Climate Action Plans - SECTOR ENGAGEMENT AND SUPPORT
The Department is looking to procure a single lead provider (or consortium) to facilitate regional networks of support and advice for sustainability and climate action planning in the education system.
This will involve facilitating a 'regional network' in each education region, where sustainability leads can benefit from peer-to-peer learning and mentoring; recruiting volunteer and/or paid experts to engage directly with education settings - at individual or trust level - who will help those settings develop and implement climate action plans; and ensuring that this on-the-ground support is properly targeted to those settings that need the support the most.
The provider will identify appropriate experts to help enable individual education settings and trusts to develop their Climate Action Plans.
Climate action plans should include action over the following areas: - Decarbonisation and energy efficiency, - Climate adaptation and resilience, - Biodiversity and green infrastructure, - Climate education and green skills and careers.
As such, the network of experts must be drawn from a wide range of careers and occupations (education, academia, industry), to provide the technical expertise needed to help education settings own and implement these wide-ranging plans.
The formal Call for Competition will be conducted via the Department for Education's Jaggaer e-Tendering Portal.
