CEFAS22-97 RFQ for a Seabass Evidence Review
The aim of this RFQ is to assess the current state of sea bass evidence and identify what is needed to generate a robust evidence-base to support future management of this important fish stock.
Sea bass has been researched intensively for the past 50 years with many new studies in recent years.
This task will involve synthesising the existing evidence on sea bass and identifying gaps that need to be filled.
The output of this will be a report that will be used to support delivery of the FMP evidence statement and, if possible, develop a manuscript for publication.
The Tenderer will collate existing studies of sea bass and, where relevant, other similar species using a structured approach from both publications and grey literature (e.g. unpublished reports, ICES outputs) on the biology, ecology and fisheries of sea bass in the UK and Europe.
Search terms and locations will be clearly defined in advance and follow a systematic review approach.
For each of the topic areas, the current state of knowledge should be synthesised and used to identify key evidence gaps that need to be filled.
