The brief

DfE wishes to appoint an Adviser to provide intervention and improvement support in Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council.

The Adviser will provide a clear and sustained focus on the areas for improvement and ensure independent oversight of the council's progress in line with improvement plans.

In doing so, the Adviser is expected to supervise the programme of change that the Council has embarked on, to drive forward the improvements and implement close monitoring arrangements.

The Adviser will report to Ministers on progress and their views will inform decisions about the nature of the Department's intervention in this area.

Note: Bidders interested in this requirement should be aware that they must allow at least 6 full working days before the competition closing date of 12 noon on 16 April 2018.
