Provision of Wifi across the CPS Estate (Wifi and Hardware) - PR2023 034 The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has an ICT team within the Digital and Information Directorate (DID), delivering a professional approach and striving for Security Excellence in the provision of all IT services.

Following on from the webinar held on 26th April 2023, the CPS have published an opportunity for WIFI and hardware on 19th October 2023.

The CPS currently operates a WAN across up to 40 sites in England and Wales.

Over the course of the next 12 months, we want to transition to GovWifi as part of ensuring that all services are available securely directly over the internet.

We believe that using the GovWifi standard will be particularly valuable to staff who work in multiple locations and ensure that we work to a common approach across buildings which are shared with other public service providers.

The provision of wireless LAN at CPS sites supports the strategic digital direction of moving towards a flexible, user-centric, zero-trust environment across the CPS estate and will eventually allow the removal of most of the traditional wired network architecture and security model .
