Provision of Residential Accommodation for Language Academy

The Language Academy at the University of Central Lancashire organises a range of courses for international students, language teachers and professional clients.

We have a range of clients from across the world, primarily focusing on undergraduates from UCLan's partner institutions in China, S.

Korea and Japan.

In addition to university students, we also run courses for language teachers and other professional people.

Most packages offered to clients consist of tuition, accommodation and leisure activities.

As such, we require a reliable, local provider of high-quality accommodation to meet the requirements of those attending our programmes.

Attendees stay in the accommodation for periods between one and thirteen weeks, though we do sometimes have courses lasting several months.

Language Academy courses take place throughout the year, with a particular focus on the summer vacation, over July and August (approximately 200 rooms).

There is a further need during the academic year, with 30 rooms for Sept-Jan and another 30 from Jan-May.

We aim to provide outline accommodation requirements about three months in advance, with firm numbers at least a month before the accommodation is required.

However, the nature of our business means we often cannot provide completely accurate figures until closer to course dates.

Since accommodation plays such a significant role in an international student's experience here in Preston, we are looking for a number of providers who has experience of working with international students, is sympathetic to aspects of cultural difference and can provide a welcoming, secure and comfortable environment.
