Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
AI Clinical Coding
The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust would like to look in to the opportunity to partner with a supplier and explore opportunities to co-develop a solution to automate clinical coding, using Countess of Chester hospital clinical documentation available.
The outputs required are OPCS procedure and ICD diagnosis codes at a Finished Consultant Episode (FCE) level for completed discharges.
Outpatient procedures undertaken in an outpatient setting would be within scope.
Inpatient / day case admissions would also require primary and secondary diagnosis codes, along with any procedures undertaken.
Due to the complexity of clinical coding and range of clinical documentation which would need to be reviewed, along with associated standards / rules, it is likely that early results would be achieved with less complex day cases or within an area such as Endoscopy.
We will work with the suppliers to provide access to clinical records and documentation and provide clinical coding advice, testing and validation of any outputs.
The initial outputs will need to be tested against coded records to ensure accuracy and depth of coding, to ensure there is no impact on reported clinical outcomes or finances.
As part of any agreed contract data protection and data security requirements would need to be met.
We intend to run a further competition through the Countess of Chester Hospital Commercial Procurement Services Clinical Coding Support Services DPS (reference DPS012).
Only those suppliers confirmed on the DPS will be considered for invitation to the further competition.
Please email info@coch-cps.co.uk to express interest in joining the above referenced DPS.
PLEASE NOTE: Any supplier must be registered on the DPS no later than 17:00 on Friday 21st February 2025.
Any supplier registered after this date cut-off date won't be included in the further competition. **There was an error in the original closing date which stated Friday 22nd February 2025 - this has now been amended to Friday 21st February 2025**
