The brief

The Derbyshire Handy Van Service and Single Point of Access for the Handy Van Service will deliver preventative and practical support to older and vulnerable people across Derbyshire.

The range of services to be provided in Lots 2 and 3 by the Handy Van Service includes: Home Fire Safety Checks, installation, programming, handover, maintenance and servicing of Assistive Technology equipment (Telecare, Community Alarms, Telehealth etc.), practical assistance / small DIY tasks etc.

The Single Point of Access Service in Lot 1 will administer all service requests for the two Handy Van Services.

Tenders are invited from suitably experienced and qualified providers that have staff with the relevant/appropriate skills and experience to effectively manage and provide the services.

The contract is for 3 years initially with an option to extend for a further 2 x 1 year periods.

Tenderers may bid for one or more Lots.

The maximum number of Lots to be awarded to any bidder is 2 provided that this includes Lot 1.

The Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 has been taken into consideration in the development of this service.

TUPE may apply to this contract.
