Defence Science & Technology Laboratory (DSTL)
GB-Salisbury: Ion Chromatograph
This sits in the upper-middle of the Laboratory & Precision Equipment band — a substantial contract for the sector. Based on 9,869 valued Laboratory & Precision Equipment tenders in our corpus.
Dstl requires a benchtop ion chromatograph (IC) to fulfill its analytical requirements.
A flexible IC system is required to perform efficient rapid and slow, high and low pressure separations.
The IC must be versatile to switch rapidly between two installed columns and multiple mobile phase channels.
Conductivity detection (capable of operating in both suppressed and unsuppressed modes) and amperometric detection are both required to provide analysis of unknown samples to determine the presence of a broad range of chemical ions.
The IC system must be able to perform automated analysis of a sample such that two distinct chromatographic separations can be made from one sample vial in parallel with one channel providing amperometric detection and the second providing conductivity detection.
All components of the IC system must be supplied from the same manufacturer to simplify instrument servicing, maintenance and minimise training burden for users.
Availability of through-life servicing and repair of the instrument (7 years minimum) must be ensured and 24-48 hour call out options must be available and supported by qualified UK based engineers.
It is essential that the total cost of the IC system is ≤ £100k (incl.
VAT) and that it is delivered by 30 March 2018.
The system would need to be installed and demonstrated to meet manufacturer specifications within six weeks of delivery. (Dstl may be able to provide options to meet supplier requests for early delivery of the IC system - please notify if required, along with probable timeframes).
