The brief

Fawley Parish Council (FPC) is seeking to upgrade some of its old playground equipment and provide some new equipment to improve disability access at three of their playgrounds; • The Warren, Holbury • QEII Recreation Ground, Thornbury Avenue, Blackfield • Tristan Close, Calshot The Council is keen where possible to use recycled materials as per the FPC Strategic Plan 2016/19 Policy 7 'The Environment' which states "Working to support national and local policies for recycling, and in particular supporting a local recycling centre, combined with supporting local community compost and recycling schemes".

FPC is situated on the coast and therefore corrosion and durability is a key concern around its play equipment.

We are keen to keep wooden equipment and component parts to a minimum.

Any metal equipment should where possible be 'double dipped' galvanised frameworks with 100% recyclable component parts/panels.

We will be seeking a lengthy warranty on parts and labour and where possible a lifetime warranty, either as part of any warranty offered and/or available to be purchased as an extended warranty.

We are looking for a range of equipment that provides excellent access for interaction with children with a range of disabilities for ages 2 - 12 yrs (we have provided a rough range, but this is not prescriptive if the ranges are not exactly as required) to occupy the following areas; • The Warren, Holbury o Unit 1 - Roundabout, 6m x 6m (2-6 yrs) o Unit 2 - Climbing Frame, new install unrestricted area (2 - 6 yrs) • QEII Recreation Ground, Thornbury Avenue, Blackfield o Unit 1 - Climbing frame with slide 9m x 5m (4 - 12 yrs) o Unit 2 - Nest swing, 7m x 4m o Unit 3 - See Saw, 5m x 5m (3 - 8 yrs) • Tristan Close, Calshot o Unit 1 - Climbing Frame with Slide, 7m x 4m (2 - 6 yrs) o Unit 2 - Roundabout, 6m radius (2 - 6 yrs) Please note no celebrity pictures or cartoon characters should be used in any of the submissions.

FPC may withdraw applications which include such graphics.
