Melton Borough Council requires electrical testing and rewiring of its social housing stock and, in addition, electrical storage heater replacements to a selection of these properties.
These two requirements have been separated into Lots.
Lot 1 - inspection, upgrading and rewiring of an estimated 547 properties approx.
Lot 2 - inspection, upgrading and rewiring plus in addition storage heater replacements to a estimated 122 properties approx.
The numbers of properties are indicative number.
Over the lifetime of the contract the total number of properties requiring upgrading and rewiring may vary.
It is anticipated that the programme of work may extend over an initial term of 4 years and possibly up to an additional 24 months as required.

This tender follows a Restricted procedure under the Public Contract Regulations 2015.
This procedure allows for short-listing suitable applicants to be invited to tender.
The Council will short-list no fewer than 5 (five) applicants from whom tenders will be invited.
The first stage in this process is for interested parties to read over all the tender documents and then complete and submit the Standard Suitability Questionnaire.
Short-listed contractors will then be invited to complete and submit the Response document which comprises their bid (£) in the form of a Pricing Schedule for each Lot and also their responses to a set of Method Statements/Evaluation Questions (common to both Lots).
The successful bidder or bidders will offer the Most Economically Advantageous Tender for each Lot, that is the best combination of price and quality.
This will be determined by evaluating the submitted bids ('price') and also the responses to the Method Statements/ Evaluation questions included in the Response document ('quality').

Please note: the deadline for Stage One of this tender, that is returning the Suitability Questionnaire, is noon Friday 22nd September 2017 The deadline for clarification questions regarding this tender is Friday 8th September.
