The brief

Project location HM Naval Base Portsmouth The Contractor shall be expected to adhere by the HMNB site security requirements, all Contractors and Sub-Contractors shall be BPSS security vetted and will be required to hold the relevant site security passes.

The Contractor shall be expected to hold the following levels of insurance £10m Public Liability, £10m Product Liability, £5m Professional Indemnity KBS Maritime - Introduction KBS Maritime is a joint venture between KBR and BAE Systems, bringing together two global players with a rich heritage of delivering excellence, innovation and reliability.

The joint venture will combine the expertise of KBR as a global leader in infrastructure asset management and services with BAE Systems' experience and capability within Portsmouth Naval Base.

KBS Maritime are delivering an ambitious, modern and enduring change to the Portsmouth Naval base infrastructure, securing investment in the local community and ensuring fit-for-purpose, world-leading fleet support for the Royal Navy and the UK in the decades ahead.

Part of the UK Ministry of Defence's (MOD) Future Maritime Support Programme (FMSP), KBS Maritime will provide technology-led and data-driven facilities management and dockside services at the base.

Project description The service provider is to conduct asbestos surveys, sample analysis and clearance procedures in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, HSG248 Asbestos: The Analysts' Guide and HSG264 Asbestos: The survey guide.

The service provider shall be accredited by UKAS.

Accredited as complying with ISO17020 and with laboratory accreditation to ISO17025.

The service provider will be required to provide details at ITT of PI Insurance, internal quality control arrangements and organizational competence e.g.

RICE, FPTSC, AIMS.

Evidence of training and experience of surveyors to be provided at ITT including: - 'P' modules - P401 for Bulk Sample Analysis - P402 Qualified for Surveys - P403 Air Sampling & Fibre Counting - P404 for Clearance Reoccupation - IPAF Certificate - WAH training - H&S passport - Surveyors to be familiar with The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.

Drafts of the following documents shall be provided at ITT: - Asbestos survey report. - Bulk sampling certificate. - 4 stage clearance. - Re-assurance air test. - In addition to the survey report the survey data shall be provided in an XML format as specified by the Asbestos RP.

This data can then be QC'd and added to the asbestos register.
