The brief

A recent study in August 2015 identified 19 different services within the Library that require registration.

Since then the Library has introduced new services that require registration, for example Membership, Online shop.

The overall result, following detailed analysis, was that of a poor customer experience and subsequent single customer view being harder to accomplish than it should be.

Hence this RFI is intended to identify how Identity Management, Access Management and Identity Verification products in the market place can help us both manage identity better but also improve the customer interaction with the Library.

We need to know what technologies and/or services might be suitable, what the likely costs of their implementation might be.

When submitting information, all organisations should note that this is not currently a tender opportunity, but is part of a market consultation exercise aiming to ensure that the procurement route selected and the options ultimately developed for the procurement are properly informed.

The British Library is inviting potential providers to comment and informally discuss options and possible business Solutions.

At this stage, no final decision has been taken on the precise procurement route to be followed.
