The brief

SCW has two main strands of business that operate within the organisation - Business Support services providing operational support services to our main group of customers, CCGs, and Consultancy based services focussing on delivering projects and programmes across health and care systems in the South of England and at national level.

We are anticipating that there is likely to be an increase in consultancy based activities reflecting the significant national drivers for change within health and care systems in England.

In response to this, we have developed a number of service offers reflecting the extensive skills, knowledge and experience of our people and unifying our two key business strands to optimise our market reach.

SCW is keen to ensure that our staff have the necessary skills base to both adapt and grow in a consultancy context.

To this end, we have introduced the following support for staff: • Consultancy Practitioner development programme - a 2-day skills development programme, aimed at staff who are either working in a more junior capacity with existing consultancy teams and those who have had some exposure/experience of consultancy work who are currently working with Business Support services teams.

This is considered an intermediate skills development programme.

This programme was first piloted 2 years ago and has been delivered 6 times, receiving positive feedback from participants. • Introduction to Consultancy programme - a half day programme targeted principally towards staff in Business Support services teams who have less exposure to consultancy work.

The programme examines the skills required of a consultant and enables participants to examine their own capabilities and define their personal development requirements.

In addition, the programme seeks to clarify what 'consultancy' looks and feels like within SCW in order to lay the cultural foundations for development of skills.

Service Delivery / Product Requirement SCW is seeking a partner to support delivery of the 2-day Consultancy Practitioner programme over the next 2 years.

It is anticipated that there will be a minimum of 7 programmes (potentially up to 10 programmes) that will take place over the next 2 years.

We are also looking for our partner to work with us to maintain the currency of the development programme during this period, ensuring it reflects the ever-changing climate within which SCW operates and ensuring the programme is contextually positioned to focus on skills relevant to our current and prospective client base.

SCW would also look to undertake a formal evaluation of the effectiveness and impact of this programme during this 2 year period and would like the supplier to work with us in partnership during this process.
