The Joint Fisheries Statement committed the UK Government to deliver 43 Fisheries Management Plans (FMP).
In compliance with the Climate Change Objective within the Fisheries Act, these FMPs have the potential to include management measures that support the fisheries to adapt to the changes brought about by climate change.
Equally, through the UK's National Adaptation Plan, Defra has a responsibility to enhance the resilience of fish stocks by integrating climate change into Fisheries Management.
The aim of this project is to conduct a literature review on existing climate adaptive fisheries management measures across the globe and recommendations that can be used to inform future fisheries management, including in the continual development of FMPs.
This contract was awarded by DEFRA.
