Devon County Council has received a Fast Followers grant from Innovate UK as part of the Net Zero Living Places programme to development of innovative green finance mechanisms to attract investment into clean growth opportunities across the county.

Achieving Net Zero is a key priority for Devon County Council.

We have been involved in the development of a Devon Carbon Plan and serve as the secretariat for the Devon Climate Emergency Response Group which oversees its implementation.\r The Fast Followers project will procure subcontractors who can provide specialist knowledge to advance specific net zero projects.\r The Innovate UK Grant Offer Letter specifies the following piece of work to be procured:\r \r £33,000 - Investment grade audits for key locations in Devon\r \r This work is to be directed on Heathfield industrial estate, in partnership with Teignbridge District Council, as advance decarbonisation of the industrial estate, identify further investable opportunities, and create a replicable process for other industrial estates across the county.\r Learning from the programme will be channelled via the existing Devon Carbon Plan partnerships - particularly District Councils - to enable roll out across Devon, maximising impact of the innovations and distributing the participation benefits.
